XComP™, short for Extensible Competencies, was born from an R&D and incubation process from a national leader in educational research in analytics, data aggregation, and competency-based assessments.

Alex Bloom is a seasoned tech executive who has been focused on Ed Tech for the last 10 years. He has been CEO of two companies, Handango (mobile) and WebAssign (Ed Tech), both of which he sold. As COO of a third company, Appia, he oversaw exponential growth before leaving to run another company.
Since selling WebAssign to Cengage Learning (textbook publisher), Alex has been consulting, angel investing and advising several technology companies. In addition to
consulting, he currently sits on the board of two companies and mentors others through the Center for Entrepreneurial Development (CED) in NC. An operator at heart, Alex is setting his sights on building the next great Ed Tech company, XComP™ Analytics.

Danny W. Mills is President of XComP™ and is a venture investor that has a background in investing in, and managing early stage technology ventures. Mr. Mills has, over the past 25 years, invested in and managed over 15 early stage businesses, both private and public, and has been a member of the Board of Directors on numerous other technology and software companies.
As with many early stage investors, many of Mr. Mills’ prior investments have either liquidated or sold, generating a positive return for investors. Mr. Mills currently serves as a director for two other portfolio companies.

Dr. Watkins is a tenured faculty member and the Assistant Dean for Dental Education and Informatics at East Carolina University, School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Todd Watkins is a consummate innovator in education for his implementation of cutting-edge technology that drives excellence in education. His contributions to e-Book technology generated the largest e-book company in the world. Todd Watkins consulted the development of the platform’s core technologies with his insights as a faculty member and Assistant Dean within Dental Medicine education.
